A person was injured by a gunshot while resisting a robbery incident on Sunday near Forest Cantt Road in Tehsil Shorkot, which has spread intense fear, panic, and a sense of insecurity among the local population.
Upon receiving a report of a gunshot injury at the Rescue 1122 control room, rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. The rescue team provided immediate first aid to the injured person on-site and then transferred him to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Shorkot for urgent medical care.
Rescue sources have identified the victim as 36-year-old Rizwan, son of Fateh Muhammad. The injured person, a resident of Chak No. 312, Shorkot Cantt, was shot in the chest, and according to medical officials, his condition is critical.
This violent incident has sent a wave of severe concern among local residents, who have expressed deep apprehension over the alleged increase in such crimes. Area residents are demanding an increased police presence and the immediate arrest of the culprits who fled after snatching the victim’s motorcycle.
In response to the attack, the police have taken formal notice of the incident and have launched a formal investigation into the matter.
