Clerks call for saving Population Welfare Dept Balochistan

QUETTA: Khalil Ahmed Durrani, President, All Pakistan Clerks Association, Population Welfare Department Unit, Vice President, Ali Ahmed Kakar and Deputy General Secretary, Ahmed Nawaz Khurasani, on Thursday demanded that the authorities should take steps to save Population Welfare Department Balochistan from ruination, bound officers of the department to perform their official duties in their respective place of posting, otherwise strong protest would be observed.

In a statement, the leaders said that performance of the department was zero owing to the reason that that officers posted in field offices did not perform their official duties in their respective offices rather they spent most of time in the Directorate General, Population Welfare Department, discussing political issues.

They said that amount meant for procuring general medicines and contraceptive medicines for the department was being embezzled in connivance with a firm, adding that owing to the reason, general medicines and contraceptive medicines could not be supplied to the field offices of the Department.

They said that employees of Population Welfare Department from different districts of the province paid visit to the Directorate General, Population Welfare Department to get their issues, including pension papers, addressed, but no attention was being paid for redressal of the grievances of the employees of the department.

They called on Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Secretary, Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili to take steps for saving Population Welfare Department, Balochistan from ruination, officers of the department be bound to perform their official duties in their respective place of posting, otherwise strong protest would be observed.
