CM inspects drains-roads work ahead of monsoon

KARACHI:Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday visited the city areas and inspected ongoing development works, reviewed cleanliness of drains and implementation of COVID SOPs.

He was accompanied by his Advisor Murtaza Wahab, Chairman P and D M Waseem, Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi and PD Karachi Package Khalid Masroor. The chief minister on his visit to Keamari checked the road from Gul Bai to Y-Junction. It is a 5.5km road right from Gul Bai to Y-Junction and is being constructed at a cost of Rs1 billion.

The chief minister said that the road was not only being constructed but also widened. The width of each side of the road has been kept at 10.5 meters and for the first-time water and sewerage line have also been laid in the area, he told the people gathered on his arrival and added there were six different nallas crossing the main road which were also being reconstructed.

The chief minister inspected cleanliness work of SITE Nallah, Keamari and directed the contractor to remove the filth taken out of the nallas. He directed PD of the project to complete the ongoing work by the end of next month. Over 65 percent construction work of the road has been completed.

Just after Keamari, the chief minister along with his team visited SITE area where survey of 17 roads was at final stage to reconstruct them. He visited each and every road to be constructed next month. The chief minister visited the roads where the water board has started laying its lines and then the work on the roads would be started.

The scheme of 17 roads of SITE area has been launched for Rs1.1 billion. These roads in the SITE area would be reconstructed after over 30 years. The chief minister, from SITE went to visit Banaras where he inspected construction of Orange Line project and found people were not observing SOPs of COVID. He directed district administration to implement the SOPs in true letter and spirit.

The chief minister also visited Gulshan-e-Maymar where work on different roads was in progress. He checked the quality and pace of work and issued necessary directions to the PD.

Jamaat Ahle sunnat delegation meets CM Sindh

A Jamaat Ahle Sunnat delegation, led by Pir Sakhi Khalid Sultan Bahu, called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at CM House and discussed different issues.

The other delegation members were Maulana Akram Saeedi, Mohammad Farooq Awan, Syed Shah Abdul Haq, Rafeeq Shah and Hazeez-ur-Rehman. Bahu discussed madaris registration, COVID situation and its SOPS at mosques with the chief minister and lauded his government efforts to promote sectarian harmony in the province.

The chief minister said that it had been the policy of his government to take people of different religions, sects and schools of thought together. “I am also thankful to the Ulemas of different schools of thought for guiding the government in different issues and supporting the government policies,” he said. He lauded the role of Jamaat Ahle Sunnat for promoting sectarian harmony.
