Conference held to promote peace among youth

QUETTA: Quadrilateral Youth Friendship Conference under the auspices of Organization of Islamic Youth (OIY) and Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) was held in the conference of BRSP here today.

 

Youth activist from Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and Turkey attended the conference organized for promoting peace and harmony amongst the participating countries. Speaking on the occasion, Hammad Khan Kakar, President, Organization of Islamic Youth said that the organizational set of OIY existed in 21 Islamic countries.

 

He said that the purpose of organizing the subject youth conference was to promote peace and harmony amongst the youth of Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and Turkey. Ghulam Muhammadi, representative of BRSP while speaking on behalf of Nadir Gul Bareach, Chief Executive Officer, BRSP said that BRSP engaged youth in all its interventions through social protection, civic engagement, recreational activities and exhibition tours. He added BRSP had engaged about 0.25 million youth of the province in vocational training, exhibition tours and higher Education.

 

The conference was also addressed by honorary Turkish Consulate General, Jan Muhammad Jamali, noted religious scholar Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Farhat Asif, President, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, Ejaz Ali, Director, Youth Affairs Department, Balochistan, religious scholar Abdul Mateen Akhunzada, Dr. Rafique, Sadaf Awan and youth activists from Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and Turkey.
