Country’s backbone destroyed by incompetent govt: Sindh CM

LARKANA:Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that agriculture is the backbone of country’s economy which has been destroyed by this incompetent government due to which economic crisis have emerged. He said the federal government exports sugar, wheat and fertilizers at cheaper rates and then imports the same at higher prices.

He was addressing the Kissan Tractor Rally at Mari bypass here on Friday arranged on the direction of the party chairman across the country. He said poor people are extremely worried about having 2-time food due to unprecedented inflation. He said at the very outset it was said that there was a wheat shortage and one federal minister asked where six crore wheat bags went but I say there is an acute handmade shortage of sugar, fertilizers and flour. He claimed during the PPP era when Asif Ali Zardari was the president there was no crisis of sugar, wheat and fertilizers. He said a lot of cotton, wheat and urea is produced in our country but even then there is a mega shortage which is a highhandedness with Sindh.

He urged the people to gather on 27th March at Mazar-e-Quaid to participate in the Long March to Islamabad led by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to send this incompetent government home. He said this government has imposed tax over tax and has snatched the happiness of the poor masses.

Provincial Local Bodies Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that after water scarcity, farmers are facing urea shortage and they are even denied proper rates for their agricultural produce and rates are sky-rocketing regularly. He said fake spokesmen of the federal government are claiming that bumper wheat crop is in the offing but the growers are extremely worried about getting a bag of urea.
