In a decisive action against growing consumer complaints, Assistant Commissioner City Sarah Faraz today led a comprehensive campaign to address the issue of overcharging for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
This operation, initiated due to numerous public complaints, involved inspections of nine LPG retail outlets located in key areas such as Shalimar, Bandar Road, and Workshop Road. During these inspections, authorities discovered that several vendors were selling LPG at prices higher than those set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Consequently, fines were imposed on these retailers to ensure compliance. Additionally, several establishments were sealed for operating without necessary verification and not adhering to recommended safety standards.
Assistant Commissioner Faraz highlighted the administration’s commitment to ensuring the availability of essential goods at official prices and enforcing compliance with safety regulations. She issued a stern warning that the crackdown on illegal activities and safety protocol violations would continue unabated in the future.
This initiative reflects the city’s efforts to protect consumer rights and maintain public safety by ensuring businesses operate within the legal framework.
