Day of Visibility for transgender rights and equality to be observed in Pakistan today

Social organizations across Pakistan are set to hold a series of events on March 31 on the occasion of the International Transgender Day of Visibility, aiming to end persistent discrimination and advocate for the community’s rights and social acceptance.

The events, held in connection with this internationally observed day, aim to raise public awareness about the fundamental rights and social inclusion of transgender individuals.

Programs are being organized in various regions, with the primary objective of fostering an environment of equality and eliminating prejudice against the transgender population.

This international day originated in the United States in 2009, initiated by social activist Rachel Crandall to draw attention to the significant challenges and issues faced by transgender individuals worldwide.
