Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Nadir Shahzad Khan has issued a stern directive, warning that any official or worker demonstrating non-seriousness or negligence during the upcoming national anti-polio campaign will be immediately identified and dismissed from their duties.
The announcement was made today during a high-level meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner in his office’s conference hall to review preparations for the immunization campaign. The meeting was attended by key officials, including District Health Officer Dr. Ali Gul Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bushra Mansoor, and representatives from the health, police, and other relevant departments.
Khan emphasized that although Sukkur’s performance in past campaigns has been exemplary, maintaining this standard requires complete responsibility from all personnel. He stated that hardworking and responsible staff will be prioritized, reinforcing a merit-based approach in this crucial public health initiative.
Stressing the critical role of monitoring, the Deputy Commissioner mandated a 100% field presence for all Assistant Commissioners, Mukhtiarkars, and monitors. He directed that a comprehensive monitoring plan be shared immediately and its strict implementation be ensured to effectively achieve the set targets.
Operational directives were also issued, obligating all Assistant Commissioners to be present early each morning of the campaign to promptly address any initial issues faced by vaccination teams and ensure their timely dispatch to the field without delay.
Khan stressed the exceptional importance of the winter campaign, stating that achieving 100% results is mandatory and no negligence at any level will be tolerated. He directed special attention to be paid to covering all schools in the initial days of the campaign, before the commencement of winter vacations.
The meeting concluded with the Deputy Commissioner distributing appreciation certificates to the best-performing officers and polio workers. Earlier, relevant officials had given a detailed briefing on the preparations for the upcoming anti-polio campaign.
