A decision has been made to improve polio vaccination coverage in Balochistan with the help of teachers.
Deputy Commissioner Jaffarabad Khalid Khan organized a seminar today to seek the support of the health and education departments to tackle parental refusals and achieve the target in polio vaccination coverage.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Khalid Khan described teachers as key community mobilizers and important messengers for conveying reliable information, which promotes positive attitudes towards immunization.
More than 45 teachers from different union councils participated in the event, showing a strong commitment from the education sector to create demand for the polio vaccine and tackle refusals.
Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) Dr. Naeem Bugti and District Deputy Education Officer (DDEO) Ms. Rashida emphasized the need for strong coordination between the health and education departments to successfully reduce vaccine refusal cases and improve overall coverage.
