Delhi court defers bail plea hearing of Shabbir Shah till April 2

New Delhi, February 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): A Delhi court, today, deferred the hearing on the bail plea of illegally detained senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, till April 2. The court of Additional Sessions Judge, Satish Kumar Arora, had on February 18 sought response from India’s Enforcement Directorate on bail plea of Shabbir Ahmed Shah. The application was moved before the court on the ground of parity after the Delhi High Court recently granted bail to co-accused Muhammad Aslam Wani in the case.

The application submitted that the APHC leader was wrongly and falsely implicated in the case, which was registered in 2007 for the alleged offence committed in 2005. Shabbir Shah, who was arrested on July 25, 2017 in the case, is presently lodged in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail.
