Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has declared that Pakistan is playing a leading role in the global fight against extremism, emphasizing that the nation”s sacrifices in the war on terror are for the peace of the entire world.

The minister’s remarks came during a meeting with US Chargé d”Affaires Natalie A. Baker in the capital city today. The discussion also covered various topics of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and a potential partnership in digital media.

Mr. Tarar informed the US diplomat that the government has implemented a comprehensive policy designed to eliminate fake news and advance digitalization, noting that these initiatives require greater visibility.

Highlighting the country”s natural beauty, cultural diversity, and rich historical heritage, the Information Minister said the administration is taking concrete steps to bolster the tourism sector. The goal, he added, is to secure a prominent place for Pakistan on the global tourism map.

He elaborated that fostering tourism would not only stimulate economic activity but also strengthen people-to-people connections between the two nations.

Furthermore, Mr. Tarar mentioned that the government is actively working on new legislation aimed at ensuring the welfare of journalists.
