Hameed Bhutto, Chairman of the Pakistan Excellence Club, visited the Directorate of Human Rights under the Sindh government, highlighting significant strides in promoting human rights and equality in a meeting, according to a press release issued on Monday. Agha Fakhar Hussain, Director of Human Rights, praised the club’s humanitarian and social welfare activities, particularly their efforts to support rain and flood-affected communities.
Hussain acknowledged that these initiatives are crucial in fostering public awareness and social responsibility, aligning with the vision of Rajveer Singh Sodha, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Human Rights. This vision emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance human rights principles in the region.
To further these objectives, both parties agreed to launch a joint endeavor titled the “Human Rights Excellence Awards.” This initiative aims to recognize and honor individuals, organizations, and civil society representatives who have made significant contributions to advancing human rights and social justice in Sindh.
A consultative meeting is being planned to outline the legal and administrative framework for the awards, ensuring transparency and compliance with the Directorate’s mandate. Director Hussain reiterated the commitment to upholding human dignity, equality, and accountability across the province, guided by the Department of Human Rights and the leadership of the Chief Minister of Sindh.
