(District): Five DHOs to be replaced for poor performance

Larkana: Sindh government has found performance of five District Health Officers (DHOs) very poor during COVID-19 emergency as the lowest number of samples have been taken by them in their respective districts since 19 June 2020.

These DHOs include Dr Ahmed Bux Jakhrani ADHO (BS-19) working as DHO Jacobabad; Dr Muhammad Hanif Memon ADHO BPS-19, DHO Thatta; Dr Shahnaz Khawaja ADHO BPS-19 Sujawal; Dr Muhammad Iqbal Jagirani ADHO BPS-19, DHO Kambar-Shahdadkot and Dr Muhammad Yousid, ADHO BPS-19, working as DHO Tando Muhammad Khan. It was revealed in the last meeting of NCOC.

A note for Chief Secretary was sent by Dr Kazim Hussain Jatoi, Health Secretary which has also been approved by the Health Minister and Chief Secretary on 2nd September to replace all of them.

It must be mentioned here that the post of DHO is of BPS-20 but BPS-19 general cadre doctors are being posted across the province since long in violation of apex court orders despite availability of BPS-20 doctors who have been posted on side posts which has ruined the concept of establishing good governance and merit.

According to the note, Dr Memon Ashfaque Ali, son of Muhammad Hashim, will be posted as DHO Thatta, Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Sarki as DHO Jacobabad, Dr Muhammad Juam, son of Wali Dino, will be posted as DHO Kambar-Shahdadkot, Dr Amir Bux Mughal, son of Qurbal Ali Mughal, will be posted as DHO Tando Muhammad Khan and Dr Abdul Hameed Soomro, son of Allah Bux, will be posted as DHO Sujawal. All of them are in BPS-19 and will be working on senior posts of BPS-20.
