An incident of alleged police corruption has surfaced in Okara, where personnel of the A Division police station allegedly released an arrested drug dealer after taking a bribe today.
The accused, identified as Saqib, was arrested by law enforcement personnel within the limits of the A Division station. After a brief two-hour detention, he was released, allegedly following a bribe transaction with the police staff.
The situation came to light when the Station House Officer (SHO) was informed about the incident. Subsequently, a formal case was registered against the involved personnel, including Qaiser Mushtaq.
Authorities have stated that strict legal actions will be taken against the police staff involved in this corruption and emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy against corruption has been adopted in the department.
