SHIKARPUR:Eight villagers were killed and 10 others were injured in an armed clash between two rival groups of Jatoi community in the katcha area within the limit of Rustam police station on Thursday.
According to reports, an armed clash took place between two rival groups of Saeed Khanani and Kamalani of Jatoi Communities which claimed eight precious lives while more than 10 others injured.
As per area police, a heavy gun battle took place between the parties in katcha area, as a result of heavy exchange of fires, six persons, including Rawat, Muhammad Ramzan, Hazoor Bux, Nawab Aka Mulla and Mumtaz of Kamali Jatoi, were killed. The injured were Mumtaz, Abdul Haleem, Ali Dino, Shahzado, Muhammad Ramzan alias Qari and Musamat Shahzadi of Kamalani Jatoi.
Additionallly, Bakhshal and Shahzado of Saeed Khanani group and a passersby whose name could not be ascertained were killed while Muhammad Mithal was also received serious injured. Few of injured including Musamat Shahzadi and Muhammad Ramzan and others reached at area hospital for their treatment medical.
As per sources, the cause behind the clash was said to be an ongoing dispute between the communities of Saeed Khanani group and Kamalani groups over an old enmity between the parties. No FIR was registered till late evening of Thursday.
