Exchange of fire in Okara, wanted dacoit arrested after being injured by his own accomplice’s bullet

A dangerous dacoit wanted in several serious cases was arrested in an injured state this morning after a dramatic exchange of fire with the police on Dhola Dhabbi Road. The accused was allegedly injured by the firing of his fleeing accomplice during the encounter.

The incident began when two armed assailants looted an unspecified amount of money from a citizen named Abrar at gunpoint within the jurisdiction of Hujra Shah Muqeem police station.

Upon receiving information about the dacoity, the Station House Officer (SHO) and his team immediately started pursuing the accused.

On Dhola Dhabbi Road, when the accused saw the police, they started indiscriminate firing. The law enforcement personnel returned fire in self-defense.

In the exchange of fire, one criminal was injured by a bullet from his accomplice, who later managed to escape from the scene. The injured person was immediately taken into custody.

Authorities have identified the arrested person as Nadeem. Preliminary investigation has revealed his involvement in at least seven serious crimes, including dacoity.

The looted money and a weapon have been recovered from the detained accused. A heavy contingent of police has cordoned off the area, and special teams have been formed to search for and arrest the escaped accomplice.
