Eyes are a priceless gift of nature, Sindh Chief Minister’s message on World Sight Day

In his message on World Sight Day on Tuesday, on the occasion of a free eye camp organized by the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) at the Chief Minister’s House, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has issued a stern warning, stating that neglecting eye health is “tantamount to blurring one’s own life.”

A spokesperson confirmed that the medical initiative was inaugurated by the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Abdul Rahim Shaikh, and was attended by a large number of officers and employees of the Chief Minister’s House.

In his statement, the Chief Minister termed eyes as a “priceless gift of nature” and stressed the urgent need for timely check-ups. He described such public awareness activities as a “commendable initiative” and the foundation of a healthy society.

Chief Minister Shah said, “Collective efforts are needed for the protection of eyesight,” expressing the commitment that the Sindh government will continue to provide all possible support for public health projects. He also praised the public welfare initiatives.

Secretary Abdul Rahim Shaikh stated that the eye camp was organized on the directive of the Chief Minister under the theme “Bright Vision, Bright Future.” He praised the “outstanding role” of LRBT in restoring sight.

Shaikh added, “A bright vision is the guarantor of a bright future,” reiterating that under the guidance of the provincial government, support for public welfare projects will continue.

During the event, the senior doctor of CM House, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, gave the participants a detailed briefing on maintaining good eye health.
