Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, in his message issued today on the birth anniversary of the Thinker of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, has said that familiarizing the new generation with the teachings and thought of Allama Iqbal is “the most important need of the time.”
The Governor highlighted that Iqbal’s vision and his philosophy of “selfhood” are an eternal source of guidance, especially for the nation’s youth.
Governor Tessori described Allama Iqbal as a fundamental intellectual pillar of the Pakistan Movement and a close associate of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who provided consultation at every turn. He affirmed that the foundations of the nation are illuminated by Iqbal’s dream and the Quaid’s struggle.
He clarified that the Poet of the East envisioned a Pakistan that would be sovereign, self-reliant, dignified, and progressive.
The Governor appealed for a national pledge to incorporate Iqbal’s principles into daily life, national character, and collective attitudes. He described Iqbal’s poetry as a powerful message of awakening, unity, and self-respect for the Muslim Ummah.
Concluding his message, Kamran Khan Tessori said that national development is a collective duty, for which every citizen must contribute to the country’s progress. He urged all Pakistanis to embrace Iqbal’s intellectual heritage to truly shape the country envisioned by the founders of Pakistan.
