Federal Health Minister Hails Indus Hospital’s Free Healthcare Model

Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal visited The Indus Hospital in Karachi, lauding its model of free healthcare as exemplary for Pakistan.

During his tour, Kamal was welcomed by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of Indus Hospital and Health Network, and Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director of the Communication and Resource Development Directorate at IHHN. The minister was briefed on the hospital’s comprehensive healthcare system, which provides free medical services nationwide.

The visit encompassed key hospital areas such as the Pediatric Oncology Ward and Emergency Department. Kamal noted the hospital’s modern infrastructure and quality of care, expressing admiration for the IHHN’s world-class treatment offered at no cost.

He applauded Dr. Abdul Bari Khan’s leadership in transforming healthcare delivery and highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing public health through innovative initiatives like Indus.

Kamal emphasized that the Indus model is a beacon for welfare-based healthcare, aligning with the government’s priority to improve healthcare quality. He reaffirmed support for expanding access to quality healthcare across Pakistan through inclusive health models.
