In a major operation against human smuggling and visa fraud, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested three alleged human smugglers, including two proclaimed offenders, for defrauding citizens of more than Rs 1.6 crore.
The arrests are part of the ongoing crackdown against criminal networks involved in human smuggling. The detained individuals have been identified as Liaquat Ali, Naeem, and Muhammad Amanullah.
According to the agency, Liaquat Ali is accused of extorting the largest amount, Rs 1 crore 39 lakh, from the victims.
The other two detained suspects, Naeem and Muhammad Amanullah, allegedly extorted Rs 25 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively through similar fraud schemes related to illegal immigration.
