FIFA asked to lift ban on Pakistan football, restore funds

KARACHI:Founder and President of Marta Women Football Club Rais Khan on Thursday demanded of FIFA to lift ban on Pakistan football and restore the funds of current Pakistan Football Federation.

In a statement, he said that the normalization committee formed by the FIFA had failed to conduct elections and that’s why President Engr. Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah had assumed the charge of the Football House. He said Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah had been rendering valuable services which could not be forgotten.

Khan said that it needed to conduct audit of the funds spent by the normalization committee. He said the committee instead of holding elections had become a candidate itself which had created unrest amongst the football associations.

He said those associations had repeatedly demanded of the FIFA to act, but their demands had so far ignored. Khan said that Haroon Malik was responsible for the downfall of football in Pakistan and all associations know about his misdeeds.

He asked the FIFA to immediately lift ban on Pakistan football and provide funds to President Ashfaq Hussain. He said a reference of corruption should be filed against Haroon Malik and misused funds should be recovered from him.

He hoped that in patronage of Ashfaq Hussain Shah football would further become popular in Pakistan and steps would be taken for promotion of football players and events. He said the teams, which had boycotted the National Women Football Championship, should be banned, because they had caused a huge loss.
