KARACHI:Ms Lis Rosenholm, Ambassador of Denmark, called on Asif Ikram, Secretary for Investment Department, Government of Sindh, here today at the office of Sindh Investment Department in Finance and Trade Centre Shahra-e-Faisal Karachi.
In the meeting, they discussed matters of bilateral interests, specially opportunities in trade, business and investment between both the countries. On this occasion, Asif Ikram, Secretary Investment Sindh highlighted the potential of investment in textile sector.
He said that there was a huge opportunity of introducing modern and latest technology in textile as well as in agriculture sector in Pakistan. He stressed that the potential of trade between both sides needed to be strengthened.
Secretary Investment highlighted the opportunities of trade business and investment in agri, aqua, energy and other related sectors. “Sindh province is blessed with natural resources like, coal and gas, marble, granite, lime stone besides Sindh has various opportunities in agribusiness, cold storage, health, education and other sectors,” said Ikram.
He mentioned that Sindh government was keenly working on all the aspects of ease of doing business reforms and in this regard, the World Bank had appreciated the efforts of Sind government. The ambassador showed her interest to improve trade volume in various sectors. The ambassador and secretary Investment Sindh agreed to continue dialogue and coordination in this regard.
