Islamabad, 2-Feb-2026 (PPI): Fifteen suspicious individuals have been taken to police stations for further verification following extensive search and combing operations conducted by law enforcement in various areas of the federal capital. The security initiative also saw nine motorbikes impounded pending investigation.
The large-scale operations were carried out following special directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of an ongoing effort to curtail criminal activities and apprehend offenders. Zonal SPs supervised the extensive security manoeuvres across the city.
During the sweep, authorities thoroughly checked 239 people, 75 houses, and 38 commercial shops. Additionally, 97 motorcycles and 34 other vehicles were inspected as part of the heightened security protocol.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations, the primary objective of these city-wide searches is to tighten the grip on criminal elements and bolster overall security for residents.
The SSP confirmed that similar initiatives are being systematically implemented throughout the district, underscoring that the Islamabad Police are continuing indiscriminate actions against criminal factions, including land-grabbing mafias and drug peddlers.
Authorities have requested residents to remain vigilant and report any unusual activity immediately to their nearest police station or via the "Pucar-15" emergency helpline.
