Five Individuals Detained as Police Sweep Through Capital

Five suspicious individuals and two motorcycles were taken into police custody for further verification following a large-scale security operation conducted across various parts of the federal capital.

According to a police report today, the initiative, part of an intensified citywide crackdown on criminal activity, was launched following special directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

Supervised by SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, and monitored by respective zonal SPs, the grand search and combing efforts involved a significant deployment of law enforcement personnel.

Throughout the sweep, authorities scrutinised a total of 275 individuals, 158 households, and 29 commercial shops. The action also included inspections of four hotels, alongside 175 motorcycles and 32 other vehicles.

SSP Operations Islamabad stated that the primary objective of these security measures is to “tighten the noose around criminal elements and further enhance security across the city.”

The operation is one of many being conducted in different areas throughout the district as the Islamabad Police continues what it describes as indiscriminate action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug dealers.

Citizens have been requested to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to their nearest police station or by contacting the emergency helpline ‘Pucaar-15.’
