The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) held a rally in Rawalakot on Saturday to mark the anniversary of their supreme head, Amanullah Khan. Participants deemed Amanullah Khan’s formula suitable for resolving the tension between Pakistan and India.
The rally was led by Zonal Secretary General Arbab Advocate. Participants carried pictures of Martyr Maqbool Bhat, Amanullah Khan, and Yasin Malik as they marched through the city. Later, during a speech at the gathering, speakers expressed concern over the negative impact on the health of prominent pro-freedom leader Yasin Malik, who has been imprisoned in Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir for the past five years.
The speakers emphasized that Yasin Malik and other prisoners should be treated with respect in accordance with international principles. They condemned the human rights violations by the Indian government and appealed to international human rights organizations to pay attention to the issue.
The speakers clarified that Yasin Malik’s case is entirely political and that he is a victim of political revenge by the Indian government. They stated that the struggle for freedom is a fundamental right of every human being and reminded the Indian government that it is following the same path as the British did with the people of the subcontinent.
