Foreign Minister’s visit to Japan

Islamabad, February 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): On the invitation of H. E. Mr. Taro Kono, Foreign Minister of Japan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan will visit Japan on February 24-27, 2019. During the visit, Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold important discussions/meetings with various Japanese dignitaries including Foreign Minister, Taro Kono, Chairman Japan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League (JPPFL), Mr. Seishiro Eto and Chairman Japan-Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee (JPBCC) Mr. Teuro Asada. Apart from interacting with the Pakistani Community, the Foreign Minister will also deliver a speech at Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) and interact with Japanese intelligentsia.

Japan is a key Economic Partner of Pakistan and has made important contributions in supporting Pakistan’s development efforts over the years. Foreign Minister will be visiting Japan after a gap of seven years. The visit will provide an opportunity to both sides to discuss bilateral relations in detail as well as issues of regional and global importance. Foreign Minister’s visit to Japan will further enhance already existing friendly relations between the two countries.
