Four suspected drug peddlers have been taken into custody following the recovery of a significant quantity of crystal meth, also known as ice, as law enforcement authorities escalate their operations against narcotics trafficking in the federal capital.
According to a police report today, a team from the Shalimar police station apprehended the four individuals, identified as Waqar Ahmed, Asghar, Rehman Hassan, and Khurram Shahzad.
The arrests are part of a broader, intensified campaign against drug dealers, initiated under special directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Zonal police officials have been instructed to accelerate and reinforce ongoing efforts to eliminate drug-related activities.
Authorities have registered cases against the accused, and further investigations are currently underway.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed the police force”s complete commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of citizens, stating that no elements would be permitted to disturb public peace.
The SSP also encouraged residents to play an active role by reporting any suspicious activity to the relevant police station or via the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, emphasising that mutual cooperation between the public and police is vital to keeping the city free from crime.
