ISLAMABAD: Four people were killed and eight others injured when a truck carrying gypsies fell into a gorge in Serikhawaja area of Neelum Valley, police said Thursday.

According to rescue sources, the condition of the two injured persons was stated to be critical, whereas 50 goats also perished in the accident. Two gypsies died on the spot while two other succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

The Rescue 1122 teams had rushed to the spot following the accident and rescued the injured. They, with the help of locals, had also shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. According to the eyewitnesses, the accident occurred due to overloading and speeding.
