FPCCI spokesman terms news item about disqualification of Senior Vice Presidentship baseless and fact-distorting

Lahore, June 21, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Chief spokesman of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) referring to the news item published in a section of Press regarding suspension of the decision of the Secretary Commerce about the condonation of late filing for renewal of Halal Products and Services Association of Pakistan (HPSAP) license till the final decision of Islamabad High Court and consequent disqualification of Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir from the post of Senior Vice Presidentship of FPCCI has termed it misleading, baseless and fact-distorting as it has unnecessarily casted doubts on the legality of the present position of its Senior Vice President, Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir.

He informed that the decision of the IHC would only delay the process of renewal of HPSAP but would not affect the position of SVP as license of Hilal Association was valid at the time of FPCCI Election, 2018 and is still in the process of revalidation with DGTO. “Once again the BMP / PBG has shown immaturity by using negative propaganda which is against the interest of Business Community at this time of economic crisis”, he added. “Moreover, since the matter is subjudice and is yet to be heard and decided, therefore, the press should have verified the authenticity of the news from the FPCCI to avoid speculation, rumour and uncertainty”, he urged.
