GDA Leaders Condemn Attack on Karachi Bar Association President

The General Secretary of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi, and Sardar Abdul Rahim have strongly condemned the assassination attempt that left Karachi Bar Association President Aamir Nawaz Warraich severely injured, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi and Sardar Abdul Rahim stated that the attack represented an escalation in tactics by those supporting the construction of additional canals from the Indus River. They emphasized that attacking a courageous legal leader would not facilitate the creation of six new canals, and described this belief as a grave misconception.

The leaders affirmed that the people of Sindh are prepared to make sacrifices to protect the Indus River. They accused the Pakistan Peoples Party of becoming predators to cover their misdeeds and extend their rule.

Highlighting the fundamental right to peaceful protest, Dr. Abbasi and Sardar Rahim insisted that such rights cannot be suppressed through intimidation. They expressed solidarity with the legal community of Karachi during this difficult time and prayed for the swift recovery of Aamir Nawaz Warraich.

The GDA leaders reiterated their demand for the arrest of those responsible for the attack on the Karachi Bar Association President.
