GDA SG visits flood affected areas of Warah

Larkana: Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi, General Secretary, Grand Democratic Alliance and Convenor, Larkana Awami Ittehad, said that the flood has wreaked havoc in the whole of Sindh, people in cities and villages are living on the roads and paths, but they have not been helped, due to which the poor people are starving and inflation is record high.

He was speaking to media persons during his visit to various flood affected villages of Warah Taluka on Monday.

He said people are extremely worried as they are being ignored which is the result of mismanagement. He said that the government has completely failed to help the victims and the Kharif crop has been destroyed.

There is no provincial government because of which the situation is very bad. How can a middle class person build his house in this situation? A national response is urgently needed for this. He said that like Sindh, the flood has caused destruction in Balochistan.

Due to the incompetence of the irrigation department, the dams were weak, so now nothing can be seen, which a huge mismanagement is. Who is responsible for this destruction? Because the rulers of Sindh are also sitting in the federation, who will have to bear the responsibility of this destruction.

In response to a question, Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi said that Pir Sain Pagara had announced that his doors are always open for the flood victims and despite receiving so much money, the people are in dire need of assistance. He said that the people of Sindh have become poor, where does the money go? Why have the ruling class filled their warehouses with foreign aid? The aid that should have been given to the people is being stored in warehouses and is being spoiled.

He said that the city’s MPA Moazzam Ali Abbasi has resigned from the MPAship because the condition of the poor people in the flood situation was very tragic which could not be tolerated and their hands were heard but despite this, Muazzam Ali Abbasi succeeded in helping the citizens to remove rainwater from the streets and neighborhoods which is a commendable act.
