Gilani concerned about detainees’ deteriorating health

Srinagar, February 16, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has expressed serious concern over the falling health of illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in different jails. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri prisoners were not being provided with proper medical treatment due to which their health was deteriorating with each passing day. He said while the inmates are harassed and threatened on one pretext or the other many of them are being shifted to Jammu jail.

Syed Ali Gilani referring to the falling condition of incarcerated Hurriyat leader, Abdul Ahad Para, said that doctors attending him had suggested immediate surgery, but the authorities were deliberately denying him specific treatment. The APHC Chairman denounced the jail authorities for their inhuman and harsh behaviour against the detainees and warned that if anything untoward happened to them, New Delhi and its puppet rulers would have to face the consequences.

Syed Ali Gilani also strongly condemned the arrest of Hurriyat leaders and activists including Zamruda Habib, Shah Wali Muhammad, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah, Abdur Rasheed Lone and Zahid Ahmed by the Indian police. He said that the police had unleashed a reign of terror and were subjecting the resistance leadership to political vendetta.
