An international contingent of political spokespersons toured a pivotal site in the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) revolutionary history on Tuesday, gaining insight into the nation’s efforts to preserve its political and cultural heritage.
The 21-member group, representing nations from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America, was guided by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Commerce and a senior PML-N spokesperson.
The tour centered on the historic Lihuangpi Road, a 604-meter cultural block acclaimed as ‘Wuhan’s Most Beautiful Street.’ The road, built in 1900 by residents of the Huangpi District, was later incorporated into the Russian Concession in Hankou and is noted for its unique blend of European and Chinese architectural styles.
Delegates explored prominent landmarks, including the Bagong House, a red-brick mansion from 1910 with Baroque design features that was originally constructed by Russian tea merchants.
A key stop on the tour was the August 7th Meeting Site Memorial Hall. This location marks where the Communist Party of China held a crucial meeting in 1927 amidst political repression, an event that significantly shaped the country’s revolutionary trajectory.
Participants received briefings on Wuhan’s multicultural urban legacy and the CPC’s foundational history. The visit is part of a multi-city program organized by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), designed to combine high-level political engagement with immersive cultural experiences.
