Governor Pledges More Active, Result-Oriented Provincial Health Sector

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi today reaffirmed his commitment to making the province’s health sector and the Health Commission more active, coordinated, and result-oriented.

The governor’s remarks came during a meeting held at the Governor House with Dr Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, the Chairman of the HANDS Welfare Foundation. The discussion focused on the non-governmental organisation”s ongoing projects across the country in sectors including social welfare, health, education, and emergency relief.

Governor Hashmi was also briefed on the academic activities of the HANDS Institute of Development Studies, which offers degree and diploma programmes, field training, and various community-based initiatives.

Further deliberations addressed the provision of basic facilities in remote and underdeveloped areas of Sindh, the enhancement of the healthcare system, and community development strategies.

Both parties agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation, advance joint programmes, and improve existing partnerships to achieve shared welfare goals.

The meeting concluded with a mutual accord to expand cooperation and accelerate efforts for public welfare. Dr Ahmed also extended a formal invitation to Governor Hashmi to visit the institute managed by the foundation.
