KARACHI: Sindh Health Department has sought working status of CT Scan machines and MRI units installed at Sindh government hospitals and institutions of Karachi division.
The Director General, Health Services Sindh, has instructed chief executive officers, directors, executive director, chief operating officer and medical superintendents of public sector hospitals to submit working status of CT Scan and MRI Units installed at Sindh government hospitals and institutions of Karachi division.
The heads of hospitals and institutions have been instructed to prepare and furnish the information regarding working status of CT scan and MRI units installed at your health facilities separately on attached format along with necessary documents to this Directorate General within three days for further course of proceedings.
Deputy Director Planning Dr Zubair Leghari has assigned to coordinate with heads of hospitals and institutions.
It is pertinent to mention here that CT Scan and MRI units of major hospitals and insinuations of Karachi division, including Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital, National Institute of Child Health and others, have been non-functional since several months.
