Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, today instructed officers of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to be prepared for immediate action in any situation, emphasising the efficient and timely utilisation of existing resources to bolster security in the federal capital.
The special briefing, held at the Police Lines Headquarters, was attended by senior officials including DIG Headquarters Malik Jamil Zafar and SSP CTD Saud Khan, where ongoing security strategies were thoroughly discussed.
In a separate review, the IGP assessed security arrangements for processions at Sain Bota Darbar and Ali Masjid G-7/2, directing officers to ensure the timely and effective implementation of all public safety measures.
A key meeting was also convened with the DIG Headquarters and the SSP of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) to examine security-related matters, with the IGP stressing the need for effective coordination to combat crime and protect citizens” lives and property under all circumstances.
Further discussions on crime prevention and improving police services took place in a meeting between the police chief and the SP and Station House Officers (SHOs) of the Soan zone.
Across all engagements, the IGP issued directives for officers to conduct effective operations against criminal elements, enhance patrol systems, and ensure the prompt resolution of public complaints.
