Today in the capital, during extensive search and combing operations, twenty-four suspected individuals, including those involved in drug smuggling, were arrested, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs. The seized items included 540 grams of heroin and 33 grams of ice.
These large-scale, joint operations were initiated on the directives of the Inspector General of Police and carried out under the supervision of the Superintendents of Police of the area. The comprehensive campaign covered areas falling under the jurisdiction of Khanna Pul, Shalimar, Aabpara, Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, Sabzi Mandi, and Khanna Police Stations.
The extensive security scrutiny included checking 475 individuals, 191 residential properties, 30 hotels, and 99 commercial establishments. Furthermore, 227 motorcycles and 76 vehicles were thoroughly inspected, with women police officers also actively participating.
In addition to drug-related arrests, 24 individuals and 31 motorcycles were taken into custody and transferred to the relevant police stations for further investigations following the operations.
Besides the search operations, special checkpoints have been established at all entry and exit points of the city. All patrolling units and dedicated squads are maintaining a constant presence throughout the city, and senior officers are personally present to review the security arrangements.
Authorities have requested citizens to fully cooperate during these checks and to immediately report any suspicious activities they observe. The police force reiterated its commitment to implementing all possible measures for the safety and security of residents’ lives and property.
