Karachi: A significant increase in intercity travel, ride-hailing, and delivery services is anticipated across Pakistan during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 holidays, according to recent data insights from inDrive. As Ramadan approaches its conclusion, a notable rise in activity levels is expected, with millions traveling to celebrate with family and sending gifts to loved ones, resulting in heightened demand across mobility and delivery platforms.
According to inDrive, data from the previous year showed substantial growth across key travel routes during the Eid week compared to the preceding week. The Islamabad-Rawalpindi to Murree route recorded a sixfold increase, while Faisalabad to Lahore saw a threefold rise. Other major routes, including Gujranwala-Lahore and Lahore-Faisalabad, also experienced threefold increases, while the Karachi-Hyderabad corridor saw a 2.5 times surge in activity.
The data further indicates a preference for peer-to-peer ride-hailing models during peak hours, where fares are directly negotiated between passengers and drivers, providing flexibility during high-demand periods. In addition to mobility services, delivery demand is also expected to rise significantly. On March 30, 2025, inDrive recorded its highest single-day activity in courier and grocery segments, with orders growing by 48.4% year-on-year during the Eid period and overall deliveries increasing by 17.25% on a month-on-month basis.
There is also a growing trend toward multi-service platform usage. By the end of 2025, 33% of users in Lahore utilized multiple services on a single platform, compared to 24% in Karachi and 16% in Islamabad-Rawalpindi. This trend is expected to continue into 2026, as consumers increasingly rely on integrated platforms for travel, deliveries, and shopping, particularly during peak festive periods.
