An alleged dacoit was arrested in an injured condition after a heavy exchange of fire with law enforcement agencies in the city’s Central District, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
The encounter occurred at Rehmani Mor in Sector 5 of North Karachi on Saturday when police stopped two suspicious individuals. An exchange of fire took place between the authorities and the individuals.
During the firing, a person named Bilal, son of Fazal Karim, was injured and was later taken into custody by the police. However, his accomplice successfully escaped and is still at large.
The authorities recovered a pistol and bullets from the arrested suspect’s possession.
The Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Police Station has registered a case and initiated further investigation into the matter, which includes a search for the absconding accomplice.
