Islam has always opposed violence and terrorism: Sindh Governor

KARACHI: Maulana Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Chairman Sailani Welfare Trust, called on Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at Governor’s House, said a statement issued here on Monday.

Issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. The Governor Sindh said that arrangements should be made for Sehri and Iftar for the deserving people in view of the holy month of Ramadan. He said the government’s shelter houses and no one sleep without food programs were the beginning of the establishment of a welfare state.

He said that ‘Ehsas no one sleep on hunger’ program will be a model not only for Pakistan but for the whole world. Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the ‘Ehsaas Sailani Lunger Scheme’ in October 2019. More than 100 free food centres were set up in the first phase of the Eradicate Poverty Ehsaas Program so that no one remain hungry and this program be expanded to other areas.

He said: “The governor said that Islam is the source of peace and security and a religion that promotes love and goodwill among human beings. Islam has always opposed violence and terrorism and called for the promotion of peace and security. Islam does not allow any kind of terrorism or oppression.”

Maulana Bashir Ahmad Farooqi said that he and every member of his team had always strived to give full rights to the deserving people so that they too could be part of the country.
