Islamabad police on Sunday claimed to have seized a substantial quantity of narcotics, including over a kilogram of ice, alongside a cache of illegal firearms during a comprehensive security operation across the federal capital, which resulted in the apprehension of 21 criminals.

According to details released by the Islamabad Capital Police, teams from the Golra, Shalimar, Sumbal, Kirpa, Humak, Lohi Bher, Phulgran, and Shahzad Town police stations took 15 suspects into custody for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

In a separate but coordinated effort, a special campaign targeting wanted individuals resulted in the capture of seven proclaimed offenders and absconders by various police units.

The items recovered from the possession of the accused include 1,128 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice), 266 grams of heroin, and 430 grams of hashish. Additionally, officers confiscated five pistols complete with ammunition and four daggers.

Formal cases have been registered against the detained individuals, and further investigations into the matter are currently ongoing, according to the police statement.

The recent crackdown is part of an effective, ongoing effort by the Islamabad Police, operating under special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to combat criminal elements and ensure the peace and tranquility of the city.

Officials reiterated their commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents, affirming that no elements will be permitted to disturb public peace. The force also urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the relevant police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster cooperation in eradicating crime from society.
