Islamabad Police today launched a major operation against criminal elements, resulting in the arrest of 69 individuals and the recovery of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and weapons.
Among those arrested, 49 were previously identified wanted criminals. Additionally, 20 individuals faced charges of illegal possession or display of weapons and involvement in drug trafficking activities.
Targeting drug dealers, authorities arrested 12 suspects. Recovered items included over two kilograms of heroin, over one kilogram of “ice” (crystal methamphetamine), and 15 bottles of alcoholic beverages.
Eight individuals were arrested on charges of illegal possession of weapons. Officers recovered seven pistols of various calibers, one rifle, and a large quantity of ammunition from them.
The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 49 wanted criminals involved in various violations. DIG Islamabad Muhammad Javed Tariq confirmed that the capital’s police maintain a zero-tolerance stance for the complete eradication of crime and public safety.
