IUB sign MoU with National Press Club for skill development of students

BAHAWALPUR: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Department of Media Studies, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and National Press Club Islamabad. On behalf of the Department, Chairman Department Prof Dr Wajid Khan and on behalf of NPC President NPC Shakeel Anjum signed the MoU.

President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt, Secretary General of NPC Anwar Raza, Secretary General of Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists Tariq Virk, Chairman Department of Communication Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan, Prof Dr Shehzad Ali and Chairman, Department of Communication, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, Prof Dr Saqib Riaz was also present.

According to the memorandum, National Press Club Islamabad Media Studies will provide internship facilities to the students of Islamia University Bahawalpur in domestic and foreign media organizations. Apart from this, it will also provide necessary assistance in conducting online and physical lectures, trainings and seminars of national and foreign senior journalists, while Islamia University Bahawalpur will provide necessary facilities in the campus for physical training workshops, seminars and lectures.

Welcoming the MoU, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Prof Dr Athar Mahboob said that it would provide an opportunity to the students of Media Studies to get acquainted with the experiences of professional training, internships and senior journalists.
