Jammu massacre one of the darkest chapters in modern history: President Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari, in a message today on the occasion of Jammu Martyrs’ Day, has described the massacre of November 6, 1947, as the most horrific massacre in the history of the subcontinent. He criticized the international community for not properly recognizing the genocide of Kashmiri Muslims and called for global awareness and intervention.

Recalling the tragic events, President Zardari stated that the Dogra army, along with the RSS and other armed groups, killed more than two hundred thousand Muslims. This atrocity forced over five hundred thousand people to migrate, marking one of the darkest periods in modern history. Zardari emphasized its ongoing impact, stating that India’s illegal occupation continues to deprive Kashmiris of their fundamental rights.

The President described the revocation of Article 370 and 35-A as a dangerous demographic strategy. He condemned these actions as a violation of the Geneva Conventions and stressed that the IIOJK region is one of the most militarized areas in the world.

In his message, President Zardari appealed to the global community not to ignore the ongoing Indian atrocities against Kashmiris. He paid tribute to the martyrs of Jammu on behalf of Pakistan and pledged unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri struggle. “We stand with the people of Kashmir in their pursuit of justice, dignity, and freedom,” Zardari said, expressing solidarity with their struggle.
