Jazz Launches 5G Services, Marking a New Era in Pakistan’s Digital Landscape

ISLAMABAD: Jazz, Pakistan's foremost digital operator, has initiated 5G services following the issuance of the Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS)/5G license by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). This development represents a significant milestone in the country's technological advancement.

According to Jazz Pakistan, the license agreement was formalized at a ceremony attended by high-profile figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Chairman PTA Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Hafeez Ur Rehman, and other senior officials. The event underscored a collective commitment to propelling Pakistan into a digitally advanced future.

Jazz's initial rollout includes approximately 180 sites across Islamabad, all provincial capitals, and key metropolitan areas such as Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, and Faisalabad. The company aims to provide ultra-fast speeds, low latency, and improved reliability, while also expanding its 4G network to ensure widespread connectivity.

Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, expressed that the launch signifies the beginning of Pakistan's 5G era, promising new opportunities for innovation and growth. He emphasized Jazz's commitment to delivering reliable connectivity and enabling a better life for all Pakistanis.

In the recent spectrum auction, Jazz secured spectrum across all major bands, including 700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3500 MHz, equipping it with a robust network for comprehensive coverage and high-capacity performance. The company has pledged an additional USD 1 billion investment in Pakistan's digital future, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country's digital economy. Through JazzWorld, the company serves over 100 million users, fostering a more connected society.
