Karachi Investigation East Police action, 2 suspects arrested for child abuse

Investigation East Police have taken two individuals into custody in connection with a series of child abuse incidents spanning five years, a significant breakthrough that came after DNA evidence revealed a single individual’s involvement in multiple incidents.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Usman Saddozai confirmed on Saturday that seven separate complaints were registered between 2020 and 2025.

Usman Saddozai highlighted the key forensic evidence that propelled the case, stating, “The Sindh Lab report showed that a single person’s DNA was a match.”

Additional Inspector General (IG) Karachi had already formed a special team to investigate these crimes.

According to SP Investigation Usman, one of the suspects, identified as Imran, allegedly used the same method in the attacks. The official revealed, “The suspect would lure children on his motorcycle and take them to the Malir River.”

In a significant development for the prosecution, the victims have started identifying the alleged suspects. SP Usman said, “In three cases, the children have identified the suspect Imran.”

He added that in another incident, another victim has implicated both individuals in custody. “In one case, the victim has identified both suspects, Imran and Waqas.”
