Authorities in Malir district reported two separate encounters with alleged robbers on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of three suspects, two of whom were injured after an exchange of fire.
In the first incident, which occurred at soda factory mor near the Sawara mill cattle colony, law enforcement personnel from the Sukkan police station engaged with suspected criminals.
Following a firefight, two individuals were taken into custody. One suspect, identified as Muhammad Haseeb, son of Muhammad Abdul Rasheed, was wounded during the confrontation. The second individual was named as Muhammad Naveed, son of Muhammad Nadeem.
Officials confirmed the recovery of a pistol with ammunition, snatched mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the scene. The injured suspect was transported to a hospital for medical attention.
A separate clash took place within the jurisdiction of the Memon Goth police station, where officers also exchanged fire with alleged robbers.
During this operation, one suspect, identified as Laldin, was arrested in an injured state, while a second accomplice successfully evaded capture and fled the area. Authorities recovered a pistol, rounds, and cash from Laldin.
In an unrelated event in Korangi District, a 26-year-old man was shot and injured over what officials described as a personal dispute.
The incident took place in Bhatai colony, within the purview of the Zaman Town police station. The victim, identified as Hamza, son of Tufail, was subsequently shifted to JPMC for medical treatment as an investigation into the matter gets underway.
