Karachi police arrests Tehreek-e-Taliban Bajauri group militant

KARACHI: The Karachi police on Monday claimed to have arrested a terrorist of Tehreek-e-Taliban Bajauri group from Malir district.

According to police sources, a squad of Malir police conducted a raid on a tip-off in the area and arrested a terrorist Usman Ghani alias Irfan belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Bajauri group.

The police sources said that the arrested terrorist is trained from Afghanistan. He went to Afghanistan in 2019 with Taliban commander Qari Obaidullah alias Qari Saqib, the police officials said. The arrested terrorist received training in Afghanistan to operate modern weapons and ammunition.

The arrested terrorist attacked the security forces at Charmang Bajaur near the border, in which a soldier was martyred. The terrorist arrested in 2020 revealed that he gave huge sums of money to Hijratullah alias Majlis alias Jutt in Karachi. Usman Ghani kept in touch with his colleagues through Facebook, police officials said.

The arrested terrorist has complete information about the secret routes to and from Bajaur. Police seized illegal weapons and ammunition from the terrorist’s possession. A case has been registered against the arrested terrorist. The police said that terrorist is being interrogated and further revelations and arrests are expected.
