Kashmir Valley, parts of Jammu receive more snowfall, rain

Srinagar, January 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, most of the Kashmir Valley as well as some Banihal and Bhaderwah areas of Jammu region received snowfall, today. A meteorological department official in Srinagar said in last 24 hours, Srinagar received 2cm of snowfall, Qazigund 13 cm, Pahalgam 32.9 cm, Kokernag 18.5cm, Gulmarg 8.2cm, Banihal 6.5 cm and Bhaderwah 3.0 cm. He said Jammu had 4.2 mm of rain, Batote 17.4 mm, Katra 8.2 mm and Kathua 4.6 mm of rainfall during the time.

Meanwhile, the weather department has forecast rain and snowfall in IIOJK during the next few days. It said that widespread moderate to heavy snow over middle and higher reaches was expected from January 23-25. It is to mention here that IIOJK is under the grip of Chillai-Kalan, the 40-day long harsh winter period that started on December 21, 2022.
