In a high-level meeting between a delegation of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and the new police chief of Karachi, concern was expressed over the city’s law and order situation, especially the security of industrial areas and the prevention of street crime.
A 21-member delegation, led by Muhammad Ikram Rajput, President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), met with the recently appointed Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan at the Karachi Police Office on Thursday to discuss the immediate security challenges faced by the business community.
The KATI representatives congratulated Azad Khan on his appointment and formally expressed their best wishes.
During the detailed discussion, the delegation also appreciated the efforts of the Karachi Police in establishing peace across the city. The members particularly described the police’s performance during the holy month of Ramadan as exemplary.
In response, Additional IG Khan assured the businessmen of the department’s full cooperation for the resolution of their issues. He also agreed on proposals to make mutual coordination between the police and the industrial community more effective.
The visiting KATI delegation included Senior Vice President Zahid Hameed, former President Zahid Saeed, Ehteshamuddin, Umer Rehan, Johar Qandhari, Saleem-uz-Zaman, Junaid Naqvi, Yasir Gulzar and other members.
